Mt Ninderry Sunshine Coast

Mount Ninderry is located on the lands of the Kabi Kabi First Nation and is a significant place in the South East Queensland songlines network. The reserve and surrounding landscape contain evidence of past Kabi Kabi activities. 

The reserve protects eight regional ecosystems, including a large area of endangered subtropical lowland rainforest. Mount Ninderry was formed 212 million years ago through volcanic activity. 

The name Ninderry comes from the Kabi language word nyindur / durree, which means "place of scrub leeches

As we hiked up the mountain a storm was moving in from the west, creating streaming sun rays as the clouds moved across the valley
