M83 - Southern Pinwheel Galaxy

M83, also known as the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Hydra, approximately 15 million light-years away. It's a bright galaxy, with an apparent magnitude of 7.5, and is considered one of the brightest spiral galaxies visible from Earth. M83 is a starburst galaxy, meaning it's producing stars at a significantly faster rate than our Milky Way.
